Bauer pad fit

Recommended Posts

I would have to think that you would be hard pressed to find any goalie pads that would fit or feel the same as the old cujo pads. I'm sure law goalie could probably give you the best info, but basically goalie pads are made differently now, as the position has changed. Closest you can find would probably be pads labeled as hybrid pads, rather than just pure butterfly, although it is more of a marketing term, there are a few differences between the two. But I'm not going to lie, there's going to be some adjustment playing with any of the new goalie pads, if you're used to playing with the kinds of goalie pads they had in the 90's. I had the same issue you seem to be having with goalie pads, when I first searched for a new pair, hoping to find ones that were as close to the pads I grew up playing with. For me, I decided to go with the vaughn velocitys, and I've been pretty happy with them. The bauer reflex pads may also be worth checking out. Basically you're going to have figure out what pads best suit your playing style, and any pads you buy are probably going to have to be worn a lot more loosely than what you're probably accustomed to.

Try contacting companies like Smith or Battram who offer more of a custom pad. I'm sure they will offer something more similar to what you are looking for.

Thanks, but does anybody know if you can get the rx8 in a plus 2?

You cannot.

As far as I can tell, the only way to get +2 on the RX series is to go custom.

You can customize RX10s to have +2 thighrises using the builder at on http://www.bauer.com/goal-customizer, but you're looking at paying $1400.00US vs $650.00US for the RX8s.
