Advice Needed to Determine Skills Competition winner

Ok here is the deal ... I am organizing a Charity Event for an organization here in Oklahoma. Its Called Hockey For Life. A 12 hour hockey marathon that is being held tomorrow. It is to benefit LifeShare of Oklahoma. LifeShare does all the organ donation and transplant services here. I am close to the organization because I lost my first wife in an automobile accident and we decided to make donate all of her organs. LifeShare was there with me every step of the way and helped me find a positive thing out a horrible event in my life. I am using Hockey to raise awareness and funds for this non profit group... That being said I hope everyone is or has considered being an organ donor!!!

On to the Skills event questions... I have a stick or two to give away and we decided to give them away to winners of a skills competition. However I am not to sure how to find a clear cut winner. We are going to charge 20 bucks to enter the competition and it will consist of 4 events. Hardest Shot , Shooting Accuracy, Fastest Skater, and Breakaway challenge. The winner of each specific event will get a certificate saying they were the best in said category .. However I do I determine an overall winner to award the big prize to? Any thoughts or suggestions?

A simple point system for the 4 events, and the highest accumulated point total wins. Say the winner of each event gets 10 points, 2nd place 5, 3rd place 2 and 4th place 1. The point values themselves can probably be tweaked but you will likely still need a tie-breaker planned in case two players finish with the same point total.

Yeah, do something like countries do for medal counts in the Olympics. If it's tied, I would do a best-of-3 shootout with the two players left.
