bauer bump/heel spur

i developed huge bauer bumps/ heel spurs on the back of my heels. My question is, is there a solution to this rather than getting new skates? will special footbeds help? Also, aside from looks, is there anything bad about these "bauer bumps"? Thx

I had them when I first got my vapor xxxx and I got some small round gel pads at my LHS, I put them under my socks and they never bothered me again. They hurt like hell until I got the gel pads, now I just use them with all skates just to be safe.
