Roller Hockey Skates for Rollersoccer

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone, now I know that you guys might think wtf, he's in the wrong place or something, but I'll still give it a shot, as the hockey community is so big and friendly...

Anyways, I'm not playing roller hockey, but rollersoccer (soccer on rollerblades) and I've had mission D1 for half a year now and they are falling apart...And so I'm currently looking for a new pair, but I'm hesitant whether I should stick with mission, or to Bauer or Tour.

I've heard the tour weren't so stiff and that the rx60 were the stiffest, is that correct? can anybody compare with the D1 skate?

So basically, I want it all: A skate that is stiff, durable and responsive yet comfortable and lightweight ^^

I don't care about the looks.

Also, if you have something in size 9.5 that you believe will do the trick, then don't hesitate to pm me

Thank you so much,

lol I helped Zach Phillips run the Rollersoccer wold championships in SF a few years ago, it was fun to watch. I think going with any mid to high end skate will be fine, just depends on what your feet like and are used to, the new missions look pretty good. Good luck this season.

Mission and Bauer are def known for being durable and stiff (as far as roller) compared to my old CCM's all I have used is Missions and they are much more stiff. I would stick with them if you haven't had any issues with them before.

Well I haven't had any issues on the mission D1 except for the outsole unglueing itself from the boot... But perhaps it's normal wear out of the skate... thanks for the suggestions !

All right let's look for mission or bauer skates now! ^^

Sorry I'm not familiar with the D1, but the Bauer RX:60's are very stiff and once they are heat molded, they are very comfortable!

They are a little expensive, but once Bauer releases their new top of the line 2011 APXR skate, the RX:60's will come down in price.

do you guys use standard wheel/chassis setups? I would tihnk that perhaps go with smaller diameter wheels for more control during footwork?

Actually, I'm the only one in my team to have similar thinking, but most of the people playing use a flat 4x80 mm wheel set and chassis. In my case, it's a hi-lo frame of 80mm and 72mm. I don't know how 80-76 is going to turn out but we will see.^^ thanks for the tip, I'm going to wait for the apx to be available and then I'll be looking for discounts.

Thank you everybody for your advices!

By the way, are the rx25 just the same but lighter? (and half the price) or is there a big difference in terms of performance and all?

The RX:25's have a great boot, not quite as stiff as the 60, but still quite good and heat moldable. The out-soul is again not as stiff as the 60. The chassis is aluminum, thus more susceptible to damage!

So it is a good deal, but you only get your money's worth! It's less expensive for a reason.
