Strange noise from skate holder

Recommended Posts

Hey guys. My x60's are virtually brand new but on my right skate there is a weird noise coming from the front of the holder. Sounds like a rivet came undone or something. When I shake it you can hear it loud. Is there anyway to get it out without taking the holder off?

is it a rattling noise? Maybe the bolt wasn't screwed on properly and came loose. Is the blade loose at all?

it is rattling but it sounds like it is moving around on the front part of the holder. The blade is still tight, and it isn't the bolt because the bolt is on the back heel

Sorry, I didn't realize that it was only coming from the front. Maybe a piece of loose plastic? I'm assuming you've already unplugged the heel part to try and shake it out?

if its an extra nut try stick a magnet next to the holder.. (its usually how i wind up chasing errant hard ware in my skate) .. or sticking a tacky stick in the hole and seeing if you can catch the noise maker

Something is in there. If you can't hear it while skating, I wouldn't worry about it. Once I had a customer with OCD. He made me remove all the rivets in the front to remove something in there making noise. When I shook it, I could barely hear it. Turned out it was a tiny piece of holder plastic. So, I guess if it's driving you nuts, you'll have to remove it as well.
