5 Minute Major 1 Report post Posted August 12, 2011 Tried searching for info on the Shock Doctor 5 pad 530 Impact Shorts. I was just wondering if any of you use these for roller hockey and what do you think of them?
sharks25 9 Report post Posted August 12, 2011 Ive used them for about 8 months now. They are still in great condition, as I air them out after every skate. They are protective enough for falls, but dont really protect well on blocked shots. Thats fine with me because i rarely block shots. I would get them again, as they are very light and comfortable. 5 Minute Major 1 Report post Posted August 13, 2011 Thanks for the reply. That's exactly what I want. Enough protections for falls and bumping the boards. I found them for 49 on ebay. Mission Thorax's are the same price though. Any insight on the Thorax's?
Vet88 674 Report post Posted August 14, 2011 Thorax's are very good - light, flexible and offer reasonable protection against shots and falls. As an older person I prefer a girdle for the better protection but these would be my next choice.
5 Minute Major 1 Report post Posted August 15, 2011 I just decided to go with the Thorax's. Thanks for the info fellas!
Kyle Friedman 9 Report post Posted April 8, 2012 I dont like the thoraz as it feels very bulky and heavy to me. I returned mine and picked up an Alkali Ca5 girdle, and i took out the thigh pads. Perfect for me, lightweight and offers minimal protection. I recommend them over anything.
