Brooks Laich says “I really don't care about that awareness stuff. To be honest I'm sick of hearing all this talk about concussions.."

Seriously? "Awareness crap". Duh, better to be unaware and concussed than "babysat". I'll bet he won't be so sick of it when he is dealing with post-concussion syndrome. Let's ban seatbelts too. While we're at it, get rid of safety harnesses for construction workers. Hell, why not legalize everything. Get rid of the CSA, FDA We're all "grown men" afterall. What a clown.

Sorry for the double post. I'm concussed but don't tell me I can't make my own decisions. I'm a grown man.

Disappointing to hear him say that, as I like him The reason these guys need "baby sat" is because they have proven they can't be trusted to police themselves or have respect for each other on their own accord. I wonder how he'd feel about if he or a teammate like Ovie got put out of the game for an extended period of time?

How can anyone with a head injury that impairs your judgement be trusted to police themselves. That is the conundrum. Asking a possibly concussed player if he is good to go will yield an impaired answer. That's the point. I'm amazed at the support for Laich's comments. I mean, when do we leave the "walk it off" tough guy sh$t behind especially from a mature player such as Laich. You would think he would have some wisdom from his years.
