Eagle PPF orange liner

I bought a pair of PPF's and PPFi's. The PPFi has the orange liner going all the way to the fingers. However, the PPF only has the orange liner on the backhand, and it doesn't extend down to the fingers. Is this by design in the PPF? I thought the orange liner is supposed to go all the way to the fingers in all the PPF variants.

I think that's something that got introduced with the 2010 model. Prior to 2010, the liner did not extend to the fingers. Sounds like the PPF is pre-2010, and the PPFi is 2010 or newer.

I asked an Eagle rep, and she told me that for the domestic gloves, the orange liner in the fingers was taken out part-way through 2011. Apparently, too many customers complained that it was too thick in the fingers, so Eagle stopped using the orange liner in the fingers and switched to a thinner black liner. I guess the PPF that I got is indeed a 2011 model, but with the new black liner in the fingers.
