Wifi for NHL Gamecenter Live?

I go to a college where we have to use a cable to get internet and when I use gamecenter live (so worth it!) it stops randomly every few seconds for at least 5 seconds then plays to 1 second then repeats 6 times then plays normally. Sometimes it skips random part of the games which pisses me off. Should I consider getting a wireless router? Like something thats like 20 to 40 dollars?

yes, I'm in the same boat and got a router at the start of the semester. its tons faster.

If it's the same connection, how is the wireless faster than the wired connection? Especially as the router is connecting into that same wired connection.

oooh, yeah. i misread the original post.

i was using a shared wifi connection, not a wired connection.

Unless you buy a new wireless broadband service, you will still have to plug the router into the same connection that is slow now. If you are planning on buying a new service, they will likely provide, or at least suggest, a compatible router.
