Need your help TO, TO100, X60/X7

Recommended Posts

Hello!!

Now i'm in APX skates, and they fit my foot really really well at first. When i'm not skating in the skates i can wear them the whole day without pain, but when i'm on the ice the skates felt like hell after about 20 minutes of skating.

The problem is that i have a overpronation at the inside of my left foot, at first it was small but now after trying to get this problem solved with rebaking, gelpad, punchin out and so on my overpronation startet to grow and now it is much bigger than before.

I think the problem ist that the skate is not deep enough for me, because my overpronation is exact at the beginning of the eyelets where the tongue getting under.

I thought of an orthopedic insole but that decrease the volume of the boot so that will make it bader.

So the only thing i can do is to try to sell them and buy new skates My LHS do not have much top end models in stock, so i can't try it.

So i need a deeper skate, which one is the deepest, the Totalone , total100, or x60/x7. ANd which one of them is the stiffest, because one problem i think ist also that the APX is so damn stiff.

One question when i i try skates my toes should feather the toecap in an upright position and in a skating position they shouldn't right??

I hope somebody can help me.

Thanks

Regarding the pronation issue : Not really clear as to WHERE the issue is but you should definitely take a look at Superfeet (http://www.superfeet.com/store/Yellow.aspx) . It's a product designed specifically as a heel support to reduce/prevent pronation.

Regarding the depth issue : Supremes are generally deeper than Vapor and I would say that all of the mentioned skates are the stiffest, although I've heard that the APX and One100 stand out.

Re the fit issue : You are correct about the feathering.

I tried superfeet and it was bader then before, because i lost volume. The skate isn't deep enough for me. So the TOtalOne woul be less stiff then the others.

THanks for your answers. I will go to an orthopedic this week and then i trie new skates with the insoles.

Superfeet raises the heel slightly, but shouldn't create volume issues. It sounds like you already had an existing one before Superfeet. In all honesty though, you probably won't notice the difference in stiffness between all 4 skates.

You say you're pronating near the very first eyelet at the front of the boot? Shouldn't that mean that the forefoot is too wide for you??? I'm confused.

No, i have a navicular overpronation. ANd the top end of the pronation touching slightly the low end of the eylets. It looks like i need a new skate. I just read in other threads that the TO isn't that stiff as die APX but i think you should be right that i can't determine the difference.
