Anyone ever cut a blade? any ideas on how?

I wanna cut my composite blade into a square toe and shorten it a little... do you think this is possible? will it mess up my blade?

Very bad idea. Don't try it.... unless you want a lesson to learn from.

i did it once. used a dremel to take off 1/4" to 1/2".

wasn't the prettiest thing ever, but it did work.

the blade was usable, just felt different. I suspect that if i used it for more than a couple of sessions, it would have broken.

my guess is that unless you already have the necessary tools, you'll end up spending more on them then a new set of blades.

The vast, vast, vast majority of composite blades are a thin layer of carbon fiber (like less than 1 mm) covering a foam core. You will almost immediately expose the foam core with any sort of cutting/shaving, and the blade will break down very quickly from that point onward. Go ahead if you want a broken blade, otherwise I would not suggest this at all.
