Bauer x:60 girdle question

Recommended Posts

I'm going to get a medium sized girdle, will a medium shell work or should I go with a large shell?

I use a medium with my medium x60.

try them on if you can. I felt like the medium was perfect for me.

If it helps, I'm 5'10" 180 pounds. I've already tried the girdle and loved the fit but my shop didn't have any shells so I have to buy one online, thats all that worries me.

How's the protection with these, specifically on the inner thigh? Took a puck there the other night wearing traditional Easton pants - usually very solid in protection, but leaves much to be desired in the inner thigh. Does the Vapor X60 girdle cover this area at all?

I was in-between the X:60 and TO and went with the TO because it was more comfortable and covered more area per comfort zone if that makes sense. I felt that the X:60 was overly bulky and was more like wearing normal pants compared to the TO. The wrap style of the TO also covered more area of my body then the X:60.

Try them on, i have the Vapor XXXX shell and when i did a medium shell, it was too short but fit around my waist better. The large i have to pull the belt strap tighter but it doesnt show the pads and i dont look as goofy! Personally i switched to the large because of the length issue

How the hip/side protection on these? I am looking at getting a girdle as my current pants keep seeming to slide on the side causing bruising and/or hip pointers... It's really starting to get annoying but the bigger, protective ice hockey pants seem like overkill and would limit mobility compared to what I'm use to so I was thinking perhaps a girdle.

Really good. IMO the X60 is the most protective girdle on the market.

The only spot that has a weakness is in the immediate groin area. A good cup will cover it up.

The inner thigh is fine on mine. I have only been hit there once, while trying to screen/tip a shot. Hit most of my cup and a little of the thigh that isn't protected.

As for size, 5"11" 170lbs medium girdle, medium shell. Works perfect for me.

Any comparisons to this and the RBK 9k? I have heard that also has very protective hip padding. But I believe it's also considerably cheaper than this.

Hard to find 9K pro stock. That one has plenty of protection. The 9K retail girdle is a light roller girdle.

If your looking for hip padding check out the Easton.

Especially compared to this... scroll down tad to see them.

Too bad I was a little bigger... I think I might pick up a pair of these X60 girdles if I can get them cheap. Hopefully they offer enough protection for decent level no-contact (but there's contact) beer league hockey

I have played in girdles and pants. I have tried on the x60. The x60 has MORE than enough protection for beer league.

By more do you at all mean too much??? The biggest thing stopping me from changing my current pants is mobility. Everything with more protection feels heavier (duh?) but also feels like it would be hard to break in.

I'm near the end of the season so if It takes considerable time to break-in these girdles then I can put them on the back burner.
