vaporboy12 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 Ok here is what I am dealing with. I am on my second pair of t1's first ones had them since retail drop. They are a size 7.5d. Pick up a new pair of prostock 7.5da's. I know the custom version's are a true Dwidth skate from what I have understood. Had no problems with the first pair. The prostock pair is a bit tight on the left skate on the outside near the little toe. I would like to know if the t1's are able to be punched out a bit on the composite material. Have you done it? Any advice if you have. I dont want to hurt a pair of brand new skate. Thanks
reidlos 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 I had a similar problem with mine but it was on the inside of my foot near the ankle. Went to a hockey store (Hockey Experts) and they rebaked them but the pain was still there. The guy said that it is not recommended to punch TO's because of the the composite boot and if they crack obviously the warranty would be voided.
reidlos 0 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 You can ignore the warranty part as the skates you bought are prostock so they don't come with warranty but like I said in terms of punching it out it is possible but you will risk cracking the boot.
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 If your problem spot is where the toecap material exists, then there's nothing you can really do about it in terms of punching out. Even the border materials between the cap and boot are difficult and that's for any skate. Like reidlos said, you could try it but it might not make a huge difference. kredmore 2 Report post Posted December 3, 2011 I had a the same issue....just a bit too tight on one foot at the widest point. MY LHS just heated a bit and rolled them out a touch to give more room. Very small amount and very careful - worked out just fine.
the_sock 1 Report post Posted January 3, 2012 Uh...you can punch the alive material, in fact, it's much more malleable then any other skate I've used. I've had three spots punched out (inside and outside of the fore foot and a little bone just below and forward of the ankle bone). No problems punching the skate.
