hampshirepuck 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 Alright skated on my "new" 735's (2011) that i bought from my buddy earlier this fall, due to work this was my second time skating on them and have what i believe a relatively fixable problem with some advice. My feet are average width with a slightly narrow heel, my right foot is also slightly bigger then my left and skate in a 8.5 with my shoe size being 10.5. I am also a barefoot skater. so here is my problem i am getting to what i believe to be hot spots on the area right below my ankle bone, but it feels a little different than a hot spot, it feels like needles driving into my skin... this is all on my right foot.. i think its from the lining but I am not too sureIs it as simple as wearing socks? I know that sounds stupid but i was raised from my father to be a barefoot skater and feel it could be a tough but neccesary change.Thoughts?
romdj 26 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 do you feel the pain just lacing them up? or do you have to skate for a while for the pain to appear? If you could feel a difference just by lacing them, it'd take you 5 minutes trying them on with a sock... illkins9 0 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 to help answer your question you need to answer what romdj asked about does it hurt as soon as you lace up or when you skate for a little while?
hampshirepuck 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 they feel fine when i lace then up, the pain starts to show up about 20 min into the skate
romdj 26 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 I'd suggest lacing them more gently (1)...reheat molding them (2) and perhaps a thin sock (1) because if you take a bigger one, your bigger foot will take even more volume.. (1) stands for steps : I'd start with (1) and if not solved, try (2).Good luck!
Chadd 916 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 My guess is that baking will likely resolve the issue. Skating in them a few times in relative rapid succession after the baking will also help to set the interior shape as well. If you do decide to try a sock, get a thin sanitary sock and cut out the foot. Since it's only your ankle causing problems, you only need to cover that area. That said, I don't think it's a sock/barefoot issue.
hampshirepuck 2 Report post Posted December 23, 2011 I will head into my LHS in the next week and get them baked again and see what that does, then work from there, could it also be a bacteria thing from my buddies skin?
