patching holes in skates

hey guys. today i skated in my vapor 3.0's for the first time. i really enjoyed them. i however was skating during a public session, and someone decided to loose control and have the toe of their skate go into my boot. now there is a small hole in it. i dont really care, at least i dont have to baby them at all, but i was wondering the best way to fill in or patch a hole. the hole is in the red area of the skate, so i thought maybe red nail polish? help would be great
