I have been going to training centers around Canada for the past couple of summers and they have improved my game alot. I went from playing Bantam AA in a small town, to the next year making Midget AAA Major affiliate as a first year and now playing Midget AAA Major.

The main question is what do training centers do you guys use to improve your game?

I have been to two and both have there plus' and minus'

www.beyondthenextlevel.com - BTNL sports performance and Therapy

I found this place improved my game alot because you have ice 4 times a week and dryland 5 times a week and fake ice complex 2 times a week. The biggest downfall is in the dryland there is very big groups and a crowded gym, if you don't know how to work out this could become even dangerous. Drylands are very intense but can be repetitive for you do the same workout every week. The fake ice is soley skill development when you have 2 practices a week with more team oriented drills passing.. etc and one ice time that is more individual skills also one scimmage/powerskating day. Here you see the kids with agents are tended to and somewhat favoured compared to the other atheletes.

This place also improved my game but you defiantly suffer because instead of having a 6 day week you usually have a 5 day week with 4 on ice (sometimes 3 depending on week) and 5 drylands. The drylands are less intense than BTNL and some are even not too intense but they put a huge emphasis on form and technique which will inturn improve flexibility and less chance of injuries. Also the dryland exercises are switched up many times and you never have the same workout twice reducing the chance of plateauing. The on ice is soley team oriented passing and on ice awareness (2 on 1, 3 on 2... etc). All kids here treated equally so environment is very healthy.

In my opinion I cannot choose one Training center over the other for each have their own plus' and minus' I would have to put a slight advantage to BTNL soley on the fact that they do not allow non elite players at their facility.

Again I repeat the question, Where do you train?
