Converting inline boot to an ice boot.

Recommended Posts

Have a pair of Mission Commanders SE (first boot bauer started making for mission). Point of my story is I have used only bauers in my 30+ years of hockey (miss my one supreme pro boot). Dont have ice boots anymore and I love my commanders fit and feel...thinking of converting them to ice boots for a big tourney in may. Also using the GRAF T-Nut system to swap out ice runners and roller chasis when the need arises for either.

All thoughts and opinions welcomed if you have done this or know anyone who has done this.

\Yeah you can do this. It does get a bit expensive with price of holders/steel/instal but if you have a boot that you like then I guess that doesnt matter. I do know people that used inlines for ice and didnt mind them. Personally I like having my inlines (Alkali CA9) and Ice (APX) separate and used for there intended purposes. I feel that the less holes and frakenstising I have to do the better and easier they are to deal with. But its up to you.

thanks for the link to that posting @nickyb13. I was just looking to hear if anyone has done it...I wouldnt normally but am in a position where I live in a non hockey state (n. cali) now and only skate inline. Had to convert unfortunately. My boots are good but I know not even close to the structure and support or lightness of my ice boots (vapor 40's and onesupreme pro spec).

Thanks for the replies guys.
