Looking for a stick..

Recommended Posts

Hey guys, first post here, but I'm interested in finding out what preferences I need for a new stick. I play high level roller hockey (with a ball), and recentley broke my last stick, and they discontinued it..

Anyways I'm looking for something with a mid kick, and hopefully somewhat light, however my most important preference would be puck feel. I really like to be able to feel the ball when im puck handling, (my last stick i could basically feel the vibration with my lower hand). What kind of specs would I need for that? Is that all about kick point? Or is that the way its tapered? Anyways, appreciate the help!

lol you really like the feel of the ball when you're puckhandling? xD

The thinnest blades will give you the best feel, and I'm not a pro with kickpoint (especially in ball hockey) but imo lower kick will suit best because it's got a quicker release...

reebok 9,11k could be nice, and the stealth line (s19,rs) from easton..

Did you like your previous stick or are you willing to discover new twigs?

What was your previous stick?

I'd re-post that in the Rollerhockey equipment forum though..

Hahhaah. You got me. I have a reebok 10k, which i like weight wise, but I bought the wrong curve and the Crosby curve is too open for ball hockey, thing flys off. I also just bought a Easton 65s stick, although I was considering the new Combat 52 cal, but i will see how well it works tonight.

My previous stick is kinda a long story, Apparently Reebok specially makes this stick for Sports Authority, and as of last year stopped making them. Its has no markings on it, other than being Reebok and grey and black, and just has the "NHL Series Silver" on it, as well as the original sickkick, and it had snakegrip (i know the 5k has snakegrip, but it was too heavy). Have you ever heard of this stick?

Well if you want a mid kick and like the snake grip, why not try the Reebok 6K shaft? It has that grip on it. Then you can pair it with a TotalOne standard blade which has a nice feel to them. Another perk is once you wear a blade down, you don't need a new stick, just replace the blade.

Edit: looks like they are listing the 6K as having griptonite now, which is still a really heavy grip, but I'm pretty sure last years model had the snake grip.

Curve wise, If I were you I'd give a shot to a gionta curve or something like that (toe hook and closed face could be nice)

I haven't heard of this stick... sorry..
