ktang 34 Report post Posted March 19, 2012 My One95 toecaps have separated from the front sides. This severely weakened the front structure of the skate, and I have seen a TotalOne with the same separation that also had a broken front outsole because the toecap is able to flex so much.I tried using epoxy to repair the joint, but it only lasted 3 weeks. Is there anybody else who has seen this problem and repaired it? It would be quite difficult to get any stitching in there through the 3 layers (plastic toe cap, composite side material, and pleather).
Durbo20vT 4 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 I had a similar issue with One90's and used JB Weld on them. The toecap actually lifted off and I just applied the jb weld, colored it black and they held up for about a year before changing to the One95's. I believe the new owner of these skates used them for 2 years after me also. Something to definitely look into...not the clearest pic, but you get the idea... ktang 34 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 OK, thanks for having the photo of the repair. I will use the JB Weld.
Durbo20vT 4 Report post Posted March 20, 2012 sure np. just remember to apply the jb weld out evenly/flat, and if possible to spread it to more surface area (without making it look ugly of course).
