Chris Gent 7 Report post Posted March 26, 2012 The last Pens game I watched, it appeared to be an Easton Steath RS (matte, not the grip unless he has a non-shiny grip version). I've not seen him close up enough recently to know for sure if it really is a Stealth RS or just a black / yellow SE16, etc. The current blade looks to have a bit of hook on the toe, to be longer than standard from heel to toe, and be fairly flat along the bottom. You can search for the same info using the web and find 100s of pictures...Note: The pics below are from a publicly searchable Tumblr site that might be blocked at work due to it's slightly NSFW name (f...yeahevgenimalkin...)http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/fyeahevgenimalkin/18790824375/1/tumblr_m0f2i4XKU41qb889phttp://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/fyeahevgenimalkin/18790811958/1/tumblr_m0f2h6Ycat1qb889pThat is from March 5th.Another:http://www.tumblr.com/photo/1280/fyeahevgenimalkin/16716489087/1/tumblr_lykuocSGep1qjl3yzHe has also used other Easton sticks and Bauer TotalOnes this year. However, over the last month or so, the pictures of him on the web appear to be all Stealth RS.
bruins89 1 Report post Posted March 26, 2012 nice eye chris gent, i dont think he uses a true rs i remember seeing a recent game where there was no ellipticalhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&_trksid=p4340.l2557&hash=item19ceb9c2a1&item=110842462881&nma=true&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&rt=nc&si=vuyi9ctZiaFNkSfLwqcG%252BVNHcY4%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc#ht_500wt_1378
Scotty 8 Report post Posted March 26, 2012 Most of his sticks I've seen pics of or game-used (in terms of Easton) are simply something along the lines of a repainted SE16. When I say "along the lines of", it's because who knows if it's exactly like that or the older SE stick. Point being, no elliptical taper and simply uses the RS graphics. Flex is generally somewhere in between 100-110 (102-112 on Bauer's scale). Curve has its different variations, but is generally a decently large mid curve, not a ton of loft, with maybe just a bit of toe curve on it as well.

xaero604 0 Report post Posted March 27, 2012 how does that curve and blade compare to the sakic/hall/p92? Is it longer, lower lie, more rocker..etc?
sharks25 9 Report post Posted March 27, 2012 Longer blade, deeper curve, less loft. I don't know the lie or the rocker of it, I haven't seen it from that angle.
Chris Gent 7 Report post Posted March 27, 2012 I only guessed at the repainted SE16 style because 3/4 (or maybe even more) of the S19s / RSs in the Stars pro shops are really repainted SE16s...even now 2+ years after they quit making them. Is there any wonder the Mako looks like it has a similar shaft profile from the demo models and pro-stocks I've seen? I still maintain the SE16 is Easton's best stick ever for overall feel, durability, and wrist shot / slap shot balance. I find the elliptical shaft sticks twist too much on slap shots (leaving them under-powered and off-target), but fire bombs on wristers...and the EQ line was too heel heavy (even with the "balance weights" in the top). Then again, it's hard to compete by selling the same stick for several years when parents are clueless and the kids all demand the flashy Warrior garbage when you have a simply-painted stick because the kids have NO clue that the SE16 is 3x's the stick that 99% of the Warriors are...IMO anyway!
