Holder Size comparison (Bauer ft. CCM/RBK)

1.Why Bauer install on APX 8.5 (D) 272mm holder, compared to CCM/RBK 8.5 (D) - 280mm holder?

2.I think a 272 LS2 has the same amount of blade as a non LS Tuuk 280 (E-Pro)? Experts correct me if i am wrong?

3.How difference between LS 2 and LS 2.1? Additional 8mm of runner and nothing other (height, radius)?

4. How difference between 272 and 280 in skates on ice ?

5.I lose speed on 272mm compared 280mm?

1. Who knows? They should put a 280 on an 8.5D. They do on the 8.5EE skates. It fits.

2. I don't think so. A 280 from pretty much any company is longer than a 272 LS2. You would have to check the profile of the blades to see which one actually has more blade on the ice though. Profile is more important than length.

3. LS2.1 is only about 3mm longer I think. No height or radius differences as far as I know.

4. 280's will have a longer platform and thus will affect the skaters feeling on the ice, but like I said above, the profile of the blade is more important when it comes to the feeling on the ice.

5. You shouldn't lose speed if they are on the same profile and ROH. Maybe every so slightly. I'm sure if you had a 272 on a 12' profile and 3/4" ROH, like I do, it would glide much better than a 9' profile and 1/2" ROH on a 280.

2.Today i compare 272mm Fusion and 280mm E-Pro scolloped = Same amount of blade!

3.How much SS XL longer then LS 2.1?

4.Bauer LS3 it's the same as SS Speed? Or SS Speed much better(better edge, and etc)?

1. Is this a question? I know they put 272mm on 8.5D. That's what I said.

2. I would have to look at them myself, but I'll take your word for it. I don't really like the shape of E-Pro steel either.

3. Step XL is about the same length as LS2.1, but the shape is better and so is the steel quality.

4. LS3 is similar to Step STSPEED, but once again the grade of steel is better.

If you have 8.5D's, I would put a 280mm LS2 holder on them with Step XL's and profile them to your desired radius.
