Newbe Looking well padded gear

Recommended Posts

I am new to Hockey and I live in Austin TX so finding people that know about Hockey is hard to do-

My question is when buying gear online how do you tell how thick the padding is ??? --

I have found only one store in Texas that sells Hockey gear and its a 6 hour drive -

I am New to this and am going to be falling alot and want to cushin my landing as much as possiable - Im OLD too --

at this time Im not worried about freedom of movement -- just padding my falls so I can get used to skating - Thanks -

the amount of padding is generally related to pricing. cheap gear doesn't protect as well. dfw is only 3-1/2 hour drive from austin. if i were you, i would drive to perani's in euless tx. they have the best gear selection anywhere around. otherwise, you could order from sites like icewarehouse that have good return policies as you find out by trial and error what fits you.
