Low/Mid-Range Intermediate Stick (Mako M2, 65S/75S...)

Recommended Posts

I was thinking about trying something completely different and picking up an intermediate 65 Iginla or similar stick. The question is which one?

I was thinking about an Easton 65S, 75S, or M2, but all the user reviews sound basically the same and I can't find much in terms of a comparison. The EQ40 or other brands with a somewhat similar pattern are also options. I'm too new to have any brand preference and don't care too much about appearance so I'm mostly just trying to figure out what has the best bang-for-the-buck performance and durability. Anyone have any opinions?

BTW, I'm about 5'10" 160lbs, new player, and currently use a senior Warrior Vandal 85 Gionta. I don't have any complaints, I like the stick, but it's also my only stick and I want to try something different just to see what else is out there. Something shorter, whippy, and with a more reasonable curve seems like it could be fun. Maybe not, of course, but I have a ton of store credit and there are some decent prices around, so it seems like it's as good a time as any to experiment.

My best suggestion is the Reebok AI:5. I truly love this stick and i am willing to use it over some of the high end sticks I've used(total one, nexon, rbz, apx)*. For the price i dont think it can be beat. As for the curve I suggest probably the Hedman. Its a nice mid curve but I am unsure if they offer it in an INT. stick. You can get a 75 flex and cut it down.

*These are obviously better sticks but the difference between 100$ and 300$ is huge.
