fatwabbit 93 Report post Posted September 12, 2012 I dont think Graf has actually made the full transition onto the inline hockey side... they may have done so in the past, but not something that lasted long.I've only seen conversions done... taking the ice boot and mounting them on an inline chassis. JR Boucicaut 3804 Report post Posted September 12, 2012 I wore Graf when I played competitive roller...16 years ago.Graf 705. The first Cyber-Flex skate was a roller boot, it then transitioned to the ice line as the Graf 727.
vince57 4 Report post Posted September 13, 2012 it appears to be personal preference but its 4x80 all day for me
AUNA 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2012 So, you think it's better Rebook 7k because it really made a full transition onto inline hockey, so the skate will be better.Really it's worse Hi-lo system?
Hockeymac18 0 Report post Posted September 13, 2012 So, you think it's better Rebook 7k because it really made a full transition onto inline hockey, so the skate will be better.Really it's worse Hi-lo system? It is personal preference. I prefer the old hilo set up (72-80) as it fits my playing style of quick turns, quick stops and starts, and quick acceleration better than the supposed top end speed that one gets from an all 80 set up, which I find I need less based on my playing style. I'm an offensively minded center whose play depends on agility more so than top-end speed, so this is where I'm coming from. A huge defenseman who needs more north-south straighaway speed might feel differently. It really is about personal preference and what playing style you prefer. Have you ever tried either configuration? Also, you should know that 72-80 chassis are very rare now since no company makes them anymore.
JR Boucicaut 3804 Report post Posted September 13, 2012 The Cyber-Flex was going to be on a Sure-Grip frame as a direct offering by GRAF back in 1997-98 after SGs CCM deal expired. Unfortunately, the bottom fell out of the deal.Ahhhh, I see. I remember there was a shop in South Florida who had a sample skate, right around that time as you said. AUNA 0 Report post Posted September 14, 2012 Thanks for the answers. There are three shops in europe that they sell graf's skates. They say that it's a g5 boot with 7000 aluminium chassis and labeda wheels in hi-lo 72-80 system.Maybe it's a conversion but they are three different shops. But finally i suppose i will buy rebook 7k because it's more "normal". Maybe graf's skates are old.
