I own the Quest Pro elbows and V12 shins (and V12 shoulders).

The Quest Pro elbows are basically V12s with very minor modifications. However, when you get them you'd better do a slight modification of the biceps wrapper. You only have to remove one seam and sew two pieces together. It makes them a lot more mobile without sacrificing protection. Jay can help you with pics he took before and after the modification.

All in all, these elbow pads kick ass. Nothing compares to it in terms of comfort, flex and "stay up" (they won't ever slide down my arm). And I am not the type to exaggerate in these matters. Protection is good, too. A lot of Elite league pros in Germany wear the V12 elbow pads.

I do not know the Quest Pro shin pads, but on the pics they look like V12s with a modified calf guard. I haven't had the chance to try out my V12 shin pads, but from wearing them at home, I like them a lot.

As for Monkey, I guess they'll ship to Singapore, but only with UPS (or similar) which is very expensive. Being a European I have always had the luck to find someone in the US to whom I could get the package sent and he forwarded it to me in Germany via USPS, which is extremely cheap, fast and reliable. Check out the site www.usps.com they even have an international postage calculator.

Eh?.... I have only been to Singapore for a week Shark, otherwise as the name suggests I live in Australia.

I'll PM JR about the mods you were speaking of...

Danke, bitte schon... ;)

ugh, sorry that was a mixup. I just came from reading the Singapore thread when I read this, so I was a bit confused. However, same as Singapore goes for Australia: UPS is much more expensive than USPS.

And it's not JR whom you should PM about the modification, it's Jay who owns the "patent" on this idea. JR doesn't even own Nike elbow pads.

Bitte bitte und nichts zu danken...

So thats One to you and One to me on the screw ups. So far....but can you pick up the rebound? lol.

Im not too sure even who Jay is so Hmmmmm....... ?

PS: You conjured up some old memories for Dad with "nichts zu danken". He hadn't heard the phrase in over 20 years. He was born in Bavaria and moved to Aus when he was 6.

I have the quest pro shin pads and they are awesome. I wanted a pad with a lot of protection and a wrap around calf guard that wasn't bulky or heavy. I tried all of the top of the line shin pads and found most of them way too bulky. I took a chance on these when I started to run out of options. They are pretty light and fit really well. They aren't bulky even with the calf guard. I've blocked about 7 or so shots with them and haven't felt a thing yet. The only complaints I have are that they could use some better ventilation and that the top strap isn't elastic so it takes a little getting used to adjusting it properly. These minor issues don't really take away from the pads though.

I just ordered 3 Nike V forces and a mission glove a few weeks ago from hockey monkey. Total shipping to Singapore came out to roughly US$105. Surprisingly, the shipping took slightly less than a week!

The only thing about hockey monkey is that they require you to TT them if you're ordering for the first time. (Got round that by using a US credit card). Other than that they are good.

Got a quote on the two sets of pads shipping wise for $65 US. Sucks buying from Hockey Monkey as they charge so much on shipping. But its still cheaper than buying instore from a local dealer in Melbourne.

A friend of mine got some gear from them sent here to New Zealand. They say you have to do a wire transfer for your first order, which costs a bunch of extra money, which he did, but then they wouldn't take his credit card after that, and wanted him to pay all of the extra wire transfer fees for each transaction - so he went to Epuck instead. Epuck also offer cheaper slower methods of shipping if you don't want to pay for 3 day couriering.
