P08 vs. Kreps Curve

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know the differences between these two curves? I currently have a P08 and I like it, but at times find it to be a little too open. I like the concept of bigger mid-like banana curves where there is basically some heel and some toe. If anyone has experience using both, your thoughts would be helpful in addition to the spec differences.

The Kreps curve is far more manageable than the P08. More of a sakic ish curve with a more open toe. Where as with P08 the curve starts right at the heel and is aggressively more open at the toe. I have used both and would say the Kreps is a better curve IMO if your someone that snaps your shots off the toe it would be for you. It's really a personal preference and and what works better with your style of shooting. With the Mako 2 coming out on the 3rd of Jan I would recommend giving it a whirl in the E28 and see if it works for you or not. Best of luck

I came from a sakic clone before the P08 and definitely shoot of the toe third of the blade more than anything else. Knowing Easton is bringing that curve to retail definitely helps with making a switch, but I am not a huge fan of the durability and rigidness maintained by Easton blades I've had. That said, I'm looking to pick up a Bauer pro stock with the Kreps curve for my initial splash. Thanks for the input.

Any comments regarding the differences in specs such as blade length or lie?

Having both curves mentioned, I find the P08 easier to lose control of the puck, stickhandling. It lets bombs of a slap shot though, every time. After finding the Kreps in a RS2, it has been my favorite stick to date. big toe and closed enough to have better control for all around use. I would love to have the Kreps pattern in bauer form.

I am in two fantasy football games and if I win one or both, I think I may spurge on the Mako 2 in the E28. Will have enough and then some for me to justify it because at this point it is like free money.

This is the first goal. If I can find the two together, preferably in a TO, I'll be a happy camper. I may have found a batch, but until I find a tape measure to double check, my initial thoughts are that it will be too short and I will have to add enough length that the flex will be out of my desired range. Hopefully, my spot check measurements are wrong and I'll have a new toy to test out in the couple weeks before our next season starts.

How are things like backhand and saucer passing compared to the P08? Easier? Same, just different motion due to a different curve?

Saucers are pretty well the sam. Backhands are tenfold easier to handle accuracy wise with the P08 I was all over the place or floundering it into the corner haha. I'd say try the E28 man now that it is in retail and more readily attainable oppose to waiting for pro stocks to come up.

I'm realizing how difficult it may be to find this curve in Bauer. I thought I had a lead, but turns out it would be too short as an extension would then make it too soft of a flex.

I'm much more of a Bauer guy as Easton blade durability turns me off. I also don't like getting the first batch of something brand new as I like to see how reviews go. I might just have to either take a plunge or be prepared to be really patient in my search.

On the night side, I am having fun with my P08 and there are still a couple weeks left before a new season so i have time to figure out what I want to do.

If you can you'll love it. I found a Letang TO and it was my fav until it started to break. I'm very saddened that I won't find another ever again.
