Kyle Friedman 9 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 Does anyone have personal experience with the totalone shinguards? - Are they really bulky or heavy?Im looking for a low bulk shinguard that sits well around the leg and has a good strapping system.-How much bulkier if at all will the totalones be vs the one80 or one60 shinguards? Leafsrule16 5 Report post Posted January 6, 2013 I'm not a big fan of the plastic bauer uses on their shin pads. They are very light and fit great, the strapping system is good and honestly they're my favorite shin pads other then the fact that the one 95's I had and now the total one's I have now have both cracked. The first pair (one95's) cracked at the knee after I took a shot off them and the second pair I took a slash in the calf which cracked them. I've had great luck with reebok ones and although they are a bit bulkier, my old 8k's are absolute tanks.
Kyle Friedman 9 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 Hmm good to know, im not too worried about the shell cracking, honestly they are going to be used for varsity and travel roller more than anything. Im just worried that they will feel bulky and heavy. Do they feel alot better after being broken in?
bolt91 31 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 I didn't like mine when I had them. Felt too bulky to me. But this is individual for everyone.
strosedefence34 176 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 i have the one 80 and honestly i think they feel a little bulky compared to the nexus 1000s I had. That beeing said as acapt91 said its all relative to the person. I have never seen the total ones in person to compare them though.
dannyt83 0 Report post Posted January 7, 2013 i had one90's and loved them and last year replaced them with totalones and i absolutley love them, im playing 2 times a week ice and they seemd to have held up fine!the one90's ive had since the day they came out and i am now using them for roller twice a week and still no crakcing/damage.the total ones are super light and compared to a pair of reebok 5k's i had are not bulky imo.
