Hum'er 9000 on Bauer Vapor/Bauer One95

Recommended Posts

Hello all,

I know there is a conversion thread but I have a question for those of you who have done a conversion on a specific pair of skates. I have a set of One100LE's and am trying to acquire a set of One95's. I am not sure which I am going to convert but I am leaning toward the One95's. I have been skating on a Hum'er chassis for ~9 years (since they were released) and I would really like to continue using them. (I conveniently have a set of Thor EX1's that are about to Kick the bucket with a good set of Eviction Frames on them)

I have seen a few Hum'er conversions on this style of bauer skate and was wondering if anyone had any wisdom for this specific conversion? I know there is a small recessed area under the ball of the foot in on these skates, making them perfect for sneaking that 2nd 80mm wheel under there.

Thanks for any and all input!

Dominic

As long Hum'er Chassis size corresponds to the size of the skates, the chassis is going to fit on either the One95 or the One100s.

The mounting of the chassis might not line up exactly with the recessed part of the sole that you've mentioned to clear an 80mm wheel. However you can simply dremmel out enough room for the wheel to spin freely.

I've had to do this on conversions of One70s & Vapor XXXX's and never had a negative impact on the sole of the skate after the conversion or when skating.

My only recommendation is to make sure you epoxy the old unused Bauer rivet holes left in the boot after the conversion.

the only way you wouldn't need to dremmel out the boot would be if you were to add risers to give the chassis extra room or maybe try using a smaller sized wheel other then 80's; don't know if either of those ideas were options but i know i've used both and had success. really comes down to what you are willing to do to the boot

The one100 is pretty much the same exact skate as the one95, so either one will have the same clearance problem. You'll probably need to add spacers, though there is a cutout on one100s around the same area that would need to be dremelled, so it may be easy to dremel them

Alrighty thanks for the input everyone! I do not have an issue with fabbing small spacers to do what I need them to do so I might go that route rather than dremel the boot. my next question is: does anyone have some detailed pics of their bauer oneXX series w/ labeda 9000 chasis installs? They are pretty sparse in the conversion thread.
