Pro stock blade height?

Watching habs-leafs game tonight (only one on here!), is it just me or are some pros using sticks with lots more height on their blades than retail? Close-up up on Phaneuf looked almost goalie blade height. With my paws I could use one like that!

Some guys use sticks that are closer to (and sometimes over) the maximum blade dimensions. Selanne is another one that comes to mind.
