New to nets questions

Recommended Posts

Hi guys,

I have played in nets when I was a kid but for the last 18 years I've played as a winger.

I recently have decided to try and be back up our 2 regular goalies as they can't always make it due to work or family commitments.

now I have been using mostly borrowed kit that is too big.

I own the pads I am wearing in the pic below, I have my own helmet and I have a pair of Graf Goaler Elite goalie skates.

Now I've been offered a full kit (brand new) at trade prices by a friend who has a shop and it's basically at 45% of regular retail prices.

I've been offered a full Sherwood T90 kit (pads, gloves, chest armour and pants) or Warrior Rituals pads & gloves and Warrior Swagger Pants and chest armour. Price for the Sherwood kit would be $727 and for the Warrior kit $932, and I am in the UK remember so prices are already higher than north America.

what would you guys recommend? Thanks!!!

For that small a difference, the Warrior without a doubt.

That being said, if you need to save a couple bucks the T90 set is still a decent deal (taking into account how much more expensive gear is there).

I'm sorry. This will not help.

Just have to point out that using the word "kit" is WAY better than our word: "gear." No sarcasm. I mean it.

Also, that net your in looks beat to crap!

Best of luck to you, you big crazy Highlander.

haha no worries :D

gearwh*re sounds better than kitwh*re though lol

the nets are an indication of the rest of the rink ... terrible ...

If you still haven't picked one yet the Warrior gear is much better quality. I work at a hockey store and the number of times the same Sherwood T90 pads have come back to be repaired is unbelievable. The sewing is not that good and the straps get ripped out too easily. The Warrior gear is made with better materials and the workmanship is much better. The Warrior stuff also feels more protective but I've never actually used the Rituals or T90's so I can't vouch for on ice protection.

Just picked up today. Rituals pads and gloves, swagger shorts and CA.

Not in the pic is my new 9k helmet and Sherwood RM9 sticks.

Ready to rock now!

Thanks for the info and confirming I made the right choice!
