Warrior Projekt Pants vs Bauer Supreme One80 Pants

Recommended Posts

All,

Long time lurker, first time poster. I am in need of a new pair of pants and I am coming from a girdle (old Bilt-Rite) and shell. I'm an ex college player that now plays competitive non-check men's league. I need something a bit more protective in the low back and tailbone areas. Does anyone have experience with either of these two pants and can compare or contrast them? I know the Warriors are a littel tighter in the thigh and are canted forward while the Bauers are a little more traditional fit but may offer a bit more protection.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Luke

I know this doesn't answer your question, but if you're already used to a girdle then why not just get an ice girdle that will be much more protective than the roller girdle you've been using?

Something like the Warrior Projekt Mid-Body Girdle with a shell or the new TotalOne NXG pants that are really a girdle shell combo come to mind.

I just downgraded from One95's to One80's. I did it because I got the One95's on a fantastic clearance deal but didn't need the level of protection they provided, I've grown back up to a solid Large (had the One 95's in a Medium and I can do it, but the Large works better for me (6' and about 200lbs now, was about 175 when I bought the Med).

Anyway, with tailbone protections a priority, I'd recommend the One95 (if you can find them) or One100 over the One80. That is definitely one area where the One 80's differ from the top-line stuff. The lighter weight is a good trade off for me, but if you need the protection, I'd go the extra $20 on the next step up. The One95's are still not heavy and they are nice and mobile, breathable, and durable.

I can't speak to the Warriors.

Yeah, I thought of just getting a new girdle but I kind of wanted to go with something that offered a little more protection. I checked out both girdles you suggested and they looked good but like I said the protection just didnt seem to be there.

I'm leaning towards the Warrior Projekt or Bonafides as they are both forward canted and have tighter fitting legs. If anyone has any info on these two pants and what they think of their protective capabilities post em up!

Thanks,

Luke

The Bonafides are more traditionally canted versus the Projekts. They're from two different line ups. The Bonafides are also bulkier with thicker foams and overall a beefier package.

The Projekts, like you mentioned are indeed forward canted, more of a contemporary sleeker fit. With a focus on that forward lean, they have noticeably higher spine and rear kidney pads which features a thinner (but still high density) protection sandwich.

I would say that if you prefer maximum coverage of your spine and lower back, or if you prefer a sleeker lower profiled pant, the Projekts would be the way to go. The Bonafides would offer more protection however, but is bulkier.

Thanks for the info Aireaye!

Follow up question. Coming from a girdle which had minimal protection but tons of movement freedom, would I be able to get into the Projekts (or even the Vapor series) easier than say a traditional pant like the Bonafides or One80s?
