Bauer Vapor APX2/ X100 vs. Supreme One.9 Sizing

Recommended Posts

I will be buying skates between now and the end of July. I am pretty well determined to purchase either the CCM RBZ (or RBZ 100 maybe), or the Bauer Supreme One.9. I have had a 17 year layoff, so I do not have much to compare with the boot that I last wore. I wore Supremes 17 years ago, and liked them well enough, but I do not recall the size.

Recently, I was able to go to the LHS (overseas from where I live, but close enough by) and get sized in Bauer Vapor APX2 and X100. I was a 10.0 EE in the APX2 and X100, without my socks. I actually wore the guy's socks there, when I tried on the APX2's, and the skates did not feel quite as comfortable. Maybe his socks we not ideal, maybe I could have gone 10.5 EE. I will be wearing the Bauer Elite skate socks- the yellow ones, not sure if it will make much difference. When I was in the store I was wearing ankle cut Under Armours when I wore the 10.0 EE X100s, which felt great. I would have worn the Elite socks when I was in the store, but I did not have them yet (they are on the way).

1) So, this LHS did not have the One.9's in stock in my size. They had 9.5 (not sure width), which I tried on, but they were too short. If I order from them, then I need to get my size dialed in and pay up front. So, how do the One.9s sizing compare with the Vapor APX2 and X100?

(Nice thing about the CCM RBZ potential, is that since I will be trying these on when the vendor (different than the LHS who sells Bauer) gets his initial mass shipment, then I will have every option to choose from, and try on everything until I dial in my size, right then and there, and with no commitment to even take them one way or the other on top of that. This lends me to lean toward just going this route.

2) Please feel free to comment how you think the One.9 compares to the RBZ as well. Obviously, the RBZ is not available to the public yet, but plenty have gotten their feet into them.

I know we try to stay on topic and all, but I think we can manage 2 topics in one thread, if we just lable 1) and 2) when we comment on each.

2) from what i have tried on the RBZ skates are extremely wide. The D fit similar if not a bit wider in the forefoot compared to my old EE x:60 length wise i was a 7 in both
