guitarfreek92 7 Report post Posted June 27, 2013 alright i seem to have this prolbem to always fall on my rear and it always hurts no matter which pants i wear. thinking of taking the pads from one pant and putting them in that area to help soften the blow. is this a good idea as far as movability?should it be hard or a fairly simple procedure? i have nike bauer xv111 and old ccm supras availale i prefer the bauers so ill probally take the pads from the ccms. or is their a more padded pant out their that might be a better idea? McDugan 89 Report post Posted June 28, 2013 I'm all for modifying equipment but in this case I think you'd be better off finding some padded compression shorts with good tailbone protection to wear under the pants. They'll fit much better. I can't imagine a way taking pads and plastics form other pants wouldn't restrict movement. The Farrell 5-pad shorts, if you can find your size, can be had pretty cheaply since they're now out of business, or Under Armour, Shock Doctor, et al also have offerings. Monty22 835 Report post Posted June 28, 2013 Putting additional padding in the tailbone flap is an easy mod. Does not effect mobility at all. I've done it to several pairs of pants.
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted June 28, 2013 Yup; find some spare slabs of foam or plastic inserts, trim to shape, cut a slit, slide in the inserts, sew it up.

One of my buddies did this. Says it solved his problem.
