Deciding what lie to use

I'm confused on the whole lie thing, what is it, and what would be the best one?

"The best one" is a misnomer, "the best one for you" takes a number of factors into account; playing style, stance, stick length, style of play, etc.

By and large, all companies produce sticks with lie 5-6 as these cater to the bulk of players. More information is needed here. Start with your position, what pattern you use now, and where the tape wears off the bottom of the blade first.

Lie would be the angle between the shaft and bottom of the blade. The lower the number (ex. 4) the further away the blade will be from your body. A higher number (like 7), the closer it will be to your body.

Do a fresh tape job on your stick and look at the wear on the blade afterwards. Does it have consistent wear throughout the blade or does it have more wear in the heel only?
