Broken M11 chin strap

I currently have the original M11 helmet. I have had it for a while and I will soon be getting a new one. At my last practice, I tried to put my helmet on and I couldn't because the little metal button that secures the chin strap to the helmet had rusted off. I have a tournament that is out of town this weekend and I would like to get my chin strap fixed by the time I leave so, I was wondering if anyone had a way to replace the metal attachment for my helmet without having to buy a completely new helmet.

Any LHS should have the chinstrap or even just that little piece you need. Just take off the ear loop, remove the entire piece, and add the new one. If you get a whole new chinstrap you will have to remove both ear loops and the pieces on. Very simple fix that should run you about $5 or so.

FYI the last time I had this problem, all the pro shop had was a package that had the complete chinstrap assembly. I figured all I had to do was replace the short end that had had the rusted off button on it. I had to return to the locker room for the long piece, after finding out the button and snap piece weren't the same size.
