Lidstrom curve rocker?

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone,

I've been lurking on a bunch of different boards and doing some research about the rocker on the Lidstrom curve (more specifically, Sher-Wood's PP05 LI). Some people have said that the Lidstrom lies very flat and has little or no rocker, while I've also seen the Lidstrom listed as "aggressive rocker" on some sites (e.g. Base Hockey). Can any Lidstrom users chime in on the rocker? Is it as square as the PM9/Modano curve? I want a blade that lies flat because I need all the help I can get catching passes and puckhandling at the blue line, and I find that I've been missing some passes with the heavily-rockered P106 Richards. Maybe it's just perception, but more blade-to-ice contact surely can't hurt.

Thanks!

The original Easton Lidstrom had very little rocker on the bottom, it was very flat. I don't recall ever seeing a version that had a big rocker.

That's good to know. Any idea why Base would list their Lidstrom clone (BC05) as having an "aggressive" rocker?

I have no idea why they would do that. It certainly wouldn't be a clone if that was the case.

Not the best pics because of a shitty camera on my smartphone but you get the idea. I compared it with my APX with a p106 and the p106 is certainly much more aggressive.

Thanks, that's really helpful. The heel looks decently square, but the bottom of the blade looks pretty rockered. In that last pic, it looks like the heel is off the ground when the middle of the blade is flush to the ground. I'm hoping the extra length of the blade will compensate for that and will allow for catching passes on the heel, with the toe being slightly elevated off the ice. The rocker does look bigger than the PM9, but the heel looks squarer than the P106.
