Good inline skating drills

Recommended Posts

As I have mentioned before, my skating is the weakest part of my game. I decided to save up to get a pair of skates to use outside since my game skates have 74a wheels(I play inline). I want to get a little bit better stopping on my left side, improve my acceleration, and learn to stop and make tight turns on my right side. I'm a left-handed shot and I REALLY want to improve my agility to the right side. What are some drills that will help me improve my skating the most? Thanks all.

suicide drill stopping in the direction you're not comfortable in.

Also while doing suicide runs you can vary the exercise by having one way going backwards.

I'd also make sure you have a hi-lo setup (80-80-72-72) imo it's one of the best chassis ever made.

Chassis is really personal preference. I have the hi-lo 80-80-76-76 set up on mine now but would trade it for an all 80 set up with the front wheels sunk in a la alkalis new rpd skates. Just avoid the all 80s that are straight and not sunken in. You'll feel like you're higher up and a bit off balance and you'll have a noticeably though slightly larger turning radius. The only people who I know still do this are Reebok and ccm horrifically bad chassis, they can hold their own wheel axles right.
