Superfeet

Recommended Posts

I've seen Superfeet mentioned in several areas of these forums. I hadn't thought much about them until the beginning of this season. I'm in Nexus EE boots, and found pressure/pain along outside edge of my foot (arch area) developing. I figured it was over tightening of those particular eyelets. But, even if I went loose on those eyelets, the pain would creep up towards the end of my skate. Then, there was the more intensive discomfort after getting the skates off, and feeling that part of the foot expand back to normal.

Anyway - grabbed a pair of Supefeet on a whim, just thinking I'd give it a shot. I'm 3 hours in, and haven't felt a thing since........

I couldn't be happier with the product and newly discovered comfort of my Nexus boots.

Posting this in case anyone is dealing with a similar issue - Yellow Superfeet - wonderful investment.....

I understand superfeet are, like anything foot related, totally subjective in terms of whether they'll work for you or not. Myself, I've used them in my last two pairs of skates and loved them. I typically buy skates in the mid market range, never spent more than $300

When I got my new skates this year, I found an excellent deal on a pair of TO NXGs through Ebay. I knew it was a bit of a risk, and although these were still more then I'd ever paid for skates, the deal was too good to ignore I thought.

Anyway, long story short, I get the skates, and they fit great, but not with the superfeet in them. It seems these TO are a much lower volume compared to my last supremes (one70). So I'm back the stock foot beds. I never thought I could go back, but these skates just fit so well as is, that I'm not finding it to be a problem and I don't miss my superfeet at all.

In brief, I highly recommend that anyone having an issue with their foot bed try them out, but if you're in a lower volume boot, they may not work.

While I like the extra heel lift the Superfeet gave me, they never ever fit my feet. I bought the insole according to the size chart but the arch was just too rearward. Bought another one a size up and same problem, which is unfortunate, cause I would have liked them to work.

Well said, they can help solve certain problems for some people, but they aren't something that everyone will need or be able to use.

But you gotta realize that Superfeet isn't an arch support, it's a heel stabilizer. That's why the 'arch' is positioned further back. They are fitted to heel size.

That may be true, but doesnt make any difference if the arch is in the wrong position for comfort. I've tried them a couple times (in skates and in shoes) due to my rep trying to get me into them, however, I just do not like them, dont like the feel of them and therefore do not use them. I much prefer the Sidas step-ins.

Yeah for sure, that's why Superfeet isn't for everybody. It's a good move on their part to include their comfort guarantee for this reason.

What he said - it was just too uncomfortable.

When I was fitted with the superfeet insole the guy fitting them for me got me to stand bare foot in different sizes until he found the one that cups your heel without bulging at the sides and your whole arch needs to be totally supported without a gap. ( That doesn't mean upward pressure - like your standing on a bar ; but a nice snug support.)

I ended up taking 2 sizes larger that what the standard chart suggests. I think it is a good idea to be fitted personally for them ! Feet come in all strange shapes and sizes.

you were fitted the correct way. Its by how your heel fits into the pocket! If you look at Superfeets instructions, it'll tell you the same thing.

In the past I have had pronation issues and superfeet seem to fix that for me. I just think that its important that the arch lines up properly to your foot regardless of the size of superfeet.
