A nice article that really shows the sacrifices that some these players make in order to play their favorite game.

So, tell me, Gary Bettman and Bob Goodenow, what are you willing to do for the game?

Hopefully everything they can to get the NHL back and running. I know theres alot of financial stuff to work out, but for the most part, they should both in the end be able to make sacrifices to get the game back on the ice. The players already do.

Slap Shot, in fact, was based on the life and incendiary times of the Minnesota Fighting Saints, an early-WHA loony receptacle.

It was written by Nancy Dowd, whose brother played for the Johnstown Jets based on the stories he and the other players told her.
