Nonbrandedsticks.com?

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

I was trying to find out if anyone had any experience with ordering a custom hockey stick from Nonbrandedsticks.com? I guess they open up ordering and once they reach a certain number they close it and order the sticks up from Asia and ship to you. Apparently they are all composite and they add your name on them too. Looks like a good stick, but I'm no expert and generally buy clearance sticks. I'm looking at the cheaper model http://nonbrandedsticks.com/products/one-piece-100-carbon-fiber-stick-445-grams . Any opinions? Thanks in advance!

Not wanting to knock them but I went down this route a few years ago and purchased via Prince Hockey out of China. They make sticks or source from other Chinese manufacturers and sell as either blank sticks or branded up any way you like eg Bauer X60. The first lot I got was okish but durability wasn't that great, they would last around 2 months before the blade would break (crack thru the middle and this was with a 12k weave on the blade). The next lot I got had the blade breaking almost immediately, cracking thru the middle. Even though they admitted it was a design flaw, no warranty or replacements. I know a couple of guys in Australia who recently sourced blank sticks out of china and had similar experiences with durability so nothing much has changed.

All up, they are cheap enough and the feel isn't bad but don't expect them to last. I'd rather hunt up a brand name on clearance or a pro stock stick. As the saying goes, you get what you pay for.

Thanks Vet88 for the reply. That's what I was thinking too. Guess the only real advantage with these would be getting the length and curve you want right off the bat. The custom name is kinda neat too. Guess I may try it... You do get what you pay for so I won't expect a pro stick at the prices they are selling them for.
