Hardest Shot Competition

We had our usual Thursday lunch time hockey today but the Fitness department had set up a little skills competition. No students turned up so a few of us hung around and took some shots. Turns out I have the hardest shot on our team. At least in front of a radar gun. MY three shots wen 81 - 82 - 81mph with a regular orange hockey ball and a Sher-Wood T50 cut down about 2 inches under my chin on shoes. Not so sure of the accuracy of the gun but it was fun to play around for a few minutes.

Only time I've ever had a chance to take a shot at a radar gun was on Canada day in Vancouver at a hockey stall in the street .I'd enjoyed a fair few beers at this point , horribly scuffed the puck (inline not ice) with my first 2 shots and thought just to get one to actually register I'd best just go for a snapshot which at about 60 mph I was actually quite pleased with given my refreshed state . Would love to have a go sober .

62mph (with a puck). Terrible for a guy of my size. I think my wrist shot is about the same, lol.

I make up for a lack of a slapshot by being decent at everything. (But not great at anything.) :(

One guy on our team shot harder with his wrist shot than his slapper. I should have measured my wrist shot too for comparison.

My wrister and snapper have been known to be harder than my slapper. It's the worst part of my game.

Knew a guy with a cannon of a slap shot, but had the wrist shot and snap shot of a squirt.

Kind of a strangely one-dimensional style...

My slapshot is 99.8 km/h tops with an orange ball, but I'm small guy, and try to make up for that with accuracy.
