Wide boots.

Dont get me wrong, i love the Graf's but having my toes rub is just such a pain in the butt. Its starting to happen with my roller skates too. Im really starting to consider the S500's for ice. But how does the mission EE width compare to Graf wides? And im assuming the toecap on the EE's is wider than the ones on D's.

Tell him to stay away from the ignites as they are extremely narrow. They're comparable to the vapor line. When I bought my vapor 10s I tried on some EE ignites first and I couldn't even get my foot into the skate. I had to get my 10s punched out so those might not work for him either. I don't know of any $50-60 that's wide and stiff (probably better for him since he doesn't have hockey ankles yet) enough for him. I'd say low-end supremes but I don't know of any that will sell that cheaply. Try to look for closeout hockey skates as he'll probably be able to pick up a mid-level skate for a low-end skate price.

Grafs are funny skates. My 709s are cut very generous yet they felt the need to stick this tiny, ridiculous excuse for a toecap on them. You end up with skates that feel like sneakers everywhere but in the toecap. The graf blisters suck. That's why I mainly use my pureflys.

Similar.

Graf is probably the easiest skate to switch from when it comes to S500.

I had those with my old 705s, but don't on my new 705s.

Yup...I had the "Graf callouses" for years.

I must have really wide forefoot... I get the "Graf callouses" with Pure Fly EE's.

Nah, it's wider.

I can't put on a D.

Graf needs to start putting wide toeboxes on their wides...they keep the regular toecap. Look at it...the boot is wide and tapers into the toecap.

I AGREE!

I thought that I'd bump this old topic because it's something I experience yet haven't heard much about on the board. The "Graf callouses" are irritating. Otherwise, it's an awesome boot! <_<
