aeriches10 3 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 Any ideas how to make the stick less grippy? Would sandpaper hurt the stick? I'm not worried about the graphics.
Sprungdownunder 18 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 Just get a can of clear auto spray paint, that works great.

Gefiltefish 9 Report post Posted March 14, 2014 It is overly grippy isn't it! I usually like grip, but the Mako grip was just horrid!I had a friend I sold an older CCM grip shaft to who did not like the grip coating. He wanted to keep the graphics somewhat, so this is what we did.1. Ran long strips of sticky tape (think it was duct tape actually as masking tape ripped the first time we did this) down the shaft. Did about 12 inch long at a time.2. Heated up the applied tape with a heat gun. Got it very hot.3. Had one of us stabilize the shaft on the ground by lightly standing on it. The other guy ripped the tape off very quickly. Kinda like taking a bandage off.Result proved fairly good. Took some time, but all of the grip came off and the graphics all stayed.
