Rockering Skates Question

Recommended Posts

I just got some new skates and the holder and runner size is 280, and i have always used 272. Everytime i skate in them i feel like im trying to reach over the toe. If i were to rocker them forward would that get rite of reaching over the toe feeling?

Thanks in advance...

It might help to know what you were wearing and what you now have. Are they the same brand? Same holder? Did you have any type of custom radius on your old skates that you haven't had done to the new ones?

With the longer 280's, the apex of the blade curvature (lowest point) is probably moved forward compared to the 272's. If that's so, a contouring job that moves the apex slightly back (towards the heel) to compensate might get you feeling centered.

So to answer your question, I believe yes, you're right.
