Skate Model Fitting

Should I be able to go into a store and have the associate look at my foot and tell me if I have more of a Supreme/Nexus/Vapor skate? Or is it more fit/feel/preference? Any store I have been into to look at skates, they have not really tried to guide me to the right skate for my foot, which I am not sure if possible or not, they have simply went more price/size in stock.

My son just bought skates this weekend and they measured his foot, took one look and the guy said without hesitation........Supreme....You put your trust that they know what they are talking about. We had him try on Supreme's and Vapor's he said the Supreme's felt better? That is what we went with.
