Youth Sticks- Need higher lie

Recommended Posts

Hi--

I have a Mite aged son who has just about worn out his current stick (Easton RS) and will be needing a new stick soon. Our LHS does not currently have ANY youth sticks, only Junior and Intermediate, which he is not ready for, so I will have to order the new stick somewhat blind. The Easton stick has been fine except that I really think the lie is too low--- he has a lot of trouble playing the puck anywhere near his body or in his skates. (It's not really a length issue--- i'm well aware that most kids' sticks are too long) Since his ADM practices are all about small-area games and skills, it is especially noticeable. Can anyone here recommend a Youth stick that has a little bit more upright of a stance?

Thanks.

Lie numbers mean nothing though. Everyone measures theirs differently.

However, I do like the Raven suggestion because their whole value proposition revolves around sticks tailored for younger kids.

Thanks for the tip. There isn't much info on the website about shaft circumference, but all the pictures look more like a JR shaft than a Youth shaft. It's still something i will definitely consider. I'm also headed to Dallas in a couple weeks and will try to swing by Hockey Giant and compare youth sticks in person. I'll report back in case anyone does a search on this topic in the future.
