TotalOne vs totalOne Nxg ice girdle

Recommended Posts

I'm in the nxg' right now but I've out grown them and need a new pair. The totalone seems similar but does the nxg offer more protection than t1? That's my only worry really I don't care about the shell, I'm using my team one anyway. Thanks guys!

If you're going with a Total One girdle, I'd recommend getting it double stitched as the Velcro came off pretty quickly on mine (the anchor leg straps in particular). It's also prone to ripping pretty easily because the Velcro likes to get caught on the girdle material.

That being said, the one thing I didn't like about the TO girdle is the lack of upper-spine protection (soft foam, w/o a plastic insert)... meanwhile, they added Poron upper-spine padding with the NXG/MX3 girdles.

Best mobility (lightest) with light protection:

- Bauer One95/Supreme Girdle (they're the same girdle with different graphics)

- Bauer MX3 Girdle (could be classified in the "good protection" category)

Good mobility with good protection:

- Bauer x:60 Girdle (APX is very similar)

- Warrior Dynasty Girdle

- Warrior Projekt Girdle

O.K. mobility (heavy) with best protection:

- Reebok 9K Girdle

My personal favorites are the x:60 girdle (I'm a medium in these) and Reebok 9K (I'm a small in these). If you get knocked down/fall enough on your hips and/or back, then you'll want to step up the protection.
