ExitTwoEighty 7 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 Are all tapered shaft/blade combinations considered low kick point due to the shape of the shaft? For example, hockey monkey has the warrior ax1 tapered shaft as low kick point.http://www.hockeymonkey.com/warrior-hockey-shaft-dynasty-ax1-tapered-grip-sr.htmlwhile the one piece is considered mid kick.http://www.hockeymonkey.com/warrior-hockey-stick-dynasty-ax1-st-sr.htmlIf that is the case, will there be any kickpoint "differences" between tapered shaft brands? Can an old clearance tapered shaft perform the shaft as a newer one? Thanks
AIREAYE 248 Report post Posted December 6, 2015 Well, you could think of it as low kick to the extent that the recoil will come from the lower third of the shaft. Traditional (i.e. standard) shafts with no taper doesn't necessarily all have mid kickpoints (unless engineered ofc, not sure what the Dynasty shafts are like) but can be thought of as 'gradual' as the taper is consistent. No comment on the brand differences, I haven't tried enough of them to compare.I would definitely say the clearance shafts would perform the same as current, given that many brands simply refresh the paint on their existing shaft lines as they roll over new lines. They don't often get the same tech as one piece given the tiny market.
ExitTwoEighty 7 Report post Posted December 10, 2015 Thanks for answering my question. It is great to hear that I can buy a clearance shaft and still get the same technology.
