Graf G9035 vs CCM Tacks 6052 Skates

Recommended Posts

Been looking at new skates, looking at something with a bit of forward pitch that isnt a bauer vapour.

Can get the Grafs off hockey monkey on sale for $408 delivered to the UK, and can get CCM Tacks 6052 from a store in the UK on sale for the same price (£270 approx $410), so am trying to get a bit of input on anyone's experience with either one.

Can find a fair bit on the CCM's online, but cant find a huge amount on the Graf's so am a little bit hesitant.

Any input / personal experience is appreciated on either.

I have 9035s and Tacks, they're very different skates. The Tacks boot is deeper overall and wider in the forefoot and heel (I have a 11.5W in Graf and 11.0 D in Tacks). The Tacks skate is MUCH stiffer than the 9035 boot in 85 flex and the Graf is more heat moldable.

The liner in the 9035 is great, it's completely waterproof and very, very comfortable.

For those of you that have the 9035s in 85 or 75 flex, how have you found the support and stiffness to be compared to other skates? I see the note above saying the 85 is less stiff than Ultra Tacks. I'm about 175lbs and on Easton EQ50s right now, and the idea of a bit more flexible boot in a top end skate is intriguing.
