CCM Skate Holders

Hey guys, going to be making the switch to a pair of ccm jetspeed skates in the very near future and I was going to be putting Lightspeed Edge holders on them. I am a 9.5 EE in my Bauers and I'll be going down to a 9 EE in the Jetspeeds. The Jetspeeds take 280mm holders while my Bauers use 288mm. My question is should i try and fit 288 holders on the jetspeeds or just go with the 280's. Has anyone had experience going down to a smaller holder? Just curious as I don't want it to affect my skating at all.

I would at least give the Speedblade holders a spin before you swap them out to see how you like them. I was in a similar boat as you when I switched from Vapors to Tacks since I had to go down a full size, which meant using shorter runners, and I noticed an immediate improvement in my skating, though I'm not sure how much of that was the change in size as opposed to going from a mid range skate to a top end one. The only reason I could see for changing holders (other than if you try the SB4.0+ and really don't like them) is if you swap your runners out a lot as the Edge holders are much, much easier to change out steel, otherwise I actually like the CCM ones better and you have a better selection of replacement runners to choose from.
